Modern Azerbaijani prose has come a short but very changes way since the end of the last century. The short-term changes were primarily related to the change and expansion of the energetic field of prose genres in relation to new aesthetic criteria. It is necessary to emphasize the fact that there is a mutual exchange between genres and the spheres they address in one way or another. As is well known, the boundaries between prose genres are quite transparent. As is known, the American writer W. Faulkner later turned several of his short stories into novels. This is undoubtedly due to the specificity of his approach to the genre. The inter-genre flow of information causes a sharp change in the inner world of an artistic work.
As a result of certain artistic, aesthetic and historical events, the genre spheres of prose expanded, which led to the emergence of genre models in prose, in other words, the dynamics of national prose has changed dramatically since the end of the last century. One of the main reasons for this is the renewal of artistic and aesthetic memory. After a certain period of time, this memory can be renewed, so to speak, at the most critical moment of the literary process. Renewal in prose thinking always stems from the intersection of old traditions with a new aesthetic paradigm. The newly formed layer of aesthetic memory tries with all its might to understand both the past and the future, as a result of which the phenomenon of penetration of genres occurs.
In the article, this process is studied at the theoretical and practical level, and the analysis of the prose samples that appeared at that time was chosen as a theoretical background.
