MEREDITH OWENS'S RESEARCH ON THE MANUSCRIPT ABOUT THE MAHSATI GANJAVI'S LIFE

The article deals with the detailed information on the manuscript of the novel "Mahsati and Amir Ahmad" preserved in the British Museum. The information on Mahsati Ganjavi's life was taken from the novel "Mahsati and Amir Ahmad". There are 4 copies of the same novel, 2 of them are preserved in the Institute of Manuscripts of Azerbaijan, one of them at Istanbul University and the other is kept in the British Museum. In 1969, British researcher Meredith Ouens published his article about description of 18 miniatures associated with the romance . This copy was bequeathed to the British Museum by Darea Baroness Zouche in 1917. Before, the manuscript seems to have been in Turkey. the manuscript Or. 8755 includes prose text and 475 rubaiyat. The manuscript Or. 8755 consists of 111 folios and was transcribed in a Nastaliq hand in 867/1462-3 but the copyist's name does not appear.
