STRUCTURE, THEME AND IDEA DIRECTIONS OF THE "FIFTH DIVAN" IN THE SERIES OF "DIVANS" BY SHAHIN FAZIL
Ilaha DADASHOVA

In the article, Shahin Fazil's "Fifth Divan", a doctor of historical sciences,
professor, who signed an innovation by creating "Khamsa" from "Divans", was
involved in the research. The poet who stated that "Khamsa Divans" were not created
in Azerbaijan and in the world, also signed a first in this field. In terms of the
number, size, structure, theme, weight and variety of genres, the five large Divans,
which I call the "pentology of Divans", are a novelty in our literature. First of all, let
us note that the large-scale "Fifth Divan" differs from the four large-scale divans
published in 1996, 2005, 2008, and 2014 by a number of features. One of them is
that it consists of two big parts called "Book I" and "Book II". Although "The Fifth
Divan", like others, begins with "Dibach", unlike them, after "Khatima" it ends with
"Continuation of Words", written by Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor
Ismail Mammadli. The "Fifth Divan", which is rich in subject matter, is the poet's
thanks to God, his love for the motherland, mother, woman, and humanity. He keeps
in himself "yesterday" and "today". There is a strong cry of sadness and triumph
arising from the occupation of Karabakh. Especially with the liberation of Karabakh,
the content of the topic has changed. Grief and pain have been replaced by the
determination to fight, and finally the joy of victory. The poet considered it important
to preserve the purity of our native language while writing poems in all three
volumes, in various genres, and proved once again that the native language has a rich
vocabulary and his great love for it. In addition, he also included Sonnets, Haiku and
Waka (tanka) in Divan.
Thus, from all that has been said, we come to the conclusion that the "Fifth
Divan" we have involved in the research is a successful event in modern Azerbaijani
literature in terms of its structure, volume, rich themes, idea direction, beautiful
presentation of classical and contemporary poetry in all three volumes, in various
genres.
