The article mentions the entrance of one of the prominent representatives of classical Azerbaijani poetry Seyid Imadeddin Nasimi into contemporary poetry. Nasimi is one of the spiritual-aesthetic sources of our national-artistic thought, along with such outstanding masters as Nizami and Khagani, Fuzuli and Khatai, M. Vagif and M.A.Sabir. In particular, in the second half of the XX century, the refer to Nasimi’s works was intensified in the poetic process. Poetry Nasimi is one of the key moments in the struggle of Azerbaijani literature for national independence. It is possible to say with certainty that many talented representatives of our modern poetry regularly referred to the works and the image of Nasimi in order to fulfill their poetic purpose.
