ARTISTIC EXPRESSION OF BELIEF IN REINCARNATIONIN THE WORKS OF MIKHAIL NAIMY

Fear of death still remains one of the problems that ever has made human being to think about it but has not found a solution to it. Thinkers of East, as well as of West have thought about it and have made some efforts and as a result, they have advanced some different theories on the matter. The theory of reincarnation that goes back to the period of Indian philosophy also covers this issue. According to this theory which is based on the immortality of the soul, the human is a regular traveler of a road extending from ignorance to maturity, even if the human completed a lifetime, the road does not end and continues its life until achieves the highest purification in a new body coming into the world. According to this theory, people died and be resurrected again and again until it reaches maturity, that is, different bodies can live with. Mikhail Naimy also has been affected by this concept as some other thinkers. After the emergence of the theory of Unity of Being, the expression style of the reincarnation theory, which has been the major part of Naimy's life and creativity, in his works, especially his poem known as “Hams-al-Jufun” (Whispering of the Eyes) is the main theme of the investigation. In this article, has been analyzed the reflection of by the reincarnation theory that is the main subject of Mikhail Naimy's stories and poetry.
